  • All in-person meetings, classes, clinics, courses, and certification exams are cancelled effective immediately. If you have registered for any of these services the health unit will be in touch with you.
  • Consultations with public health staff, such as Lactation Consultants, Public Health Inspectors, Public Health Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and Family Home Visitors for high risk clients will continue to be offered by phone/video.
  • Public Health Inspectors and Tobacco Enforcement Officers remain out in the community enforcing provincial and local laws and orders.
  • Oral health clinics are fully operational in Windsor and in Leamington. The Windsor oral health clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and our Leamington oral health clinic is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • For families unable to access vaccines for students through a community healthcare provider, the WECHU is hosting a series of catch-up immunization clinics beginning on August 11, 2021 for students born in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Clinics are being held by appointment only at the Windsor & Leamington Health Unit offices. Book an appointment for your child online, or call the School Immunization Helpline at 519-258-2146 ext.1222.

  • Our Windsor office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Please note that our Leamington Office will accept private residential well water samples for coliform and E.coli testing. The Essex office is closed.

If you have recently travelled outside of Canada  AND have developed a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing, please do not visit our offices. Please contact your primary care provider or call us at 519-258-2146.
