Pedestrians should:

  • Only cross at crosswalks or crossovers
  • Wait for traffic to come to a complete stop before crossing the road
  • Wear bright coloured clothing or wear reflective pieces, especially when it is dark out
  • Make eye contact with drivers to make sure they see you before you cross

Cyclists should:

  • Wear a helmet (this is law if you are 18 years and younger)
  • Wear reflective clothing, or, have a reflective light on your bike to make sure you are visible, especially at night
  • Make eye contact with drivers before walking your bike across an intersection
  • Share the road with drivers

Drivers should:

  • Always look out for pedestrians, especially before turning
  • Drive slowly through school zones, residential areas, or other places where there may be children playing
  • Stop behind the yield line
  • Share the road with cyclists
