As the landscape of the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) remains committed to providing timely and credible public health information to the community. With the next school year about to begin, the WECHU is once again enhancing its communication strategy to address questions pertaining to COVID-19 and other timely public health topics.

Moving forward, the WECHU will hold one media briefing per week, taking place on Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. Briefings will commence Thursday, August 18 and will run until the end of September, and extended as needed. Dr. Shanker Nesathurai (Acting Medical Officer of Health) and Nicole Dupuis (Chief Executive Officer) will be in attendance to provide updates and take questions from the media.

The media briefings will be hosted via the Microsoft Teams platform. Representatives from the media can email news@wechu.org to request the Teams call-in details.

Thank you for your ongoing support throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
