This page provides guidance and resources for elementary school administrators across Windsor and Essex County to support them during the Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA) enforcement and suspension processes.

ISPA Vaccination 2024-2025: Preparation for Suspension

This document includes resources and prepared messages that schools can use to communicate the ISPA vaccination enforcement plans for students in the 2024-2025 school year. Schools may also choose to send out these messages directly to families that have received a suspension notice and/or to those families with children suspended from school. This resource is available in English and French.

School Administrator Tool

School Administrators can use this tool to help families navigate the steps required to withdraw their child’s suspension order and return the child to school; this resource can also be printed and shared with families as a resource. This tool is available in English.

School Administrators are encouraged to refer to this document for key dates and information regarding the Immunization of School Pupils Act enforcement process currently underway. This resource is available in English. 

Student Suspension Next Steps Info Sheet

School administrators are encouraged to share this resource with families whose children are suspended from school. This resource outlines the information required for the WECHU to rescind the student’s suspension order. The document is available in English, French, Arabic, and Spanish.

Immunization Of School Pupils Act (ISPA) FAQ

This document provides answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the ISPA enforcement process. Topics range from general immunization questions to information about immunization records and how to report immunizations to the Health Unit. School Administrators can refer to this document when answering ISPA-related questions from families. This document can also be printed and given to families as a resource. This resource is available in English and French. 

Generic Updating Immunization Records Poster

Once the suspension process is complete, school administrators can print and display this poster around their school to proactively remind families that students with incomplete immunization records may face suspension in the future, if they do not provide updated immunization records to the WECHU. This poster can also be shared in JK/SK student packages or emailed to new families. This resource is available in English and French.
