Nasal swabbing is the preferred antemortem sample collection technique for diagnosing acute influenza infection caused by canine influenza virus.
This section is reserved for veterinarians responsible for the care of animals in Windsor-Essex County. As of January 1, 2018, in accordance to the Health Protection and Promotion Act, Ontario veterinarians and veterinary laboratories are required to immediately report known or suspected animals cases of certain specified diseases of public health significance to their local Medical Officer of Health.
