Fee Information: The Health Unit charges a $100 fee for seasonal housing inspection requests and the issuance of required approval letters. This fee is payable at the time of submitting an application request.
The seasonal housing accommodations must meet minimum requirements as set out in the Seasonal Housing Guidelines before an onsite inspection is conducted by the Health Unit.
Seasonal Housing Owners/Operators are required to ensure accommodations comply with all local building, fire and zoning requirements. You must notify your local municipal fire, building and by-law agencies prior to contacting the health unit.
Non-compliance may result in delays in issuing approval and may require workers to be relocated.
This Seasonal Housing Inspection Request Form must be completed and submitted to the Windsor Essex County Health Unit FOUR (4) WEEKS PRIOR to an inspection request.
A housing unit is defined as a seasonal housing accommodation at a specific address/location containing kitchen, bathroom facilities, and sleeping accommodation in individual or shared rooms.
