What is an Outbreak?

An outbreak is generally a sudden increase in the number of cases of an infection which exceeds what would normally be expected for that setting.

If you suspect an outbreak, break the chain of transmission, and implement outbreak controls.

As schools resume after the March Break and the growing rates of measles cases across the world, and here in Ontario, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) is cautioning residents of this region to be aware of the the symptoms of Measles and to take certain measures if you suspect you or your child has measles.
