The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit provides confidential support services that contribute to healthy sexuality. These services are available at our Windsor and Leamington locations:

Where to go for STI/STBBI testing
The following local clinics or your health care provider can provide testing for sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STIs or STBBIs):

Sexually Transmitted Infections
Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) are spread through unprotected anal, oral, or vaginal sex. Many STIs are easily treated, but some STIs may stay with you for life. If left untreated, many STIs can cause serious illness or permanent damage.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV)
HPV is a very common virus that can cause many types of cancers, including cervical, penile, anal, oropharyngeal cancer, and genital warts.
Hepatitis B
Hepatitis B (Hep B) is an infection of the liver, caused by the hepatitis B virus (HBV).
Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by bacteria (germs), called Neisseria gonorrhoeae. It is one of the most common bacterial STIs.
Chlamydia
Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection (STI) caused by bacteria (germs), called chlamydia trachomatis. It is one of the most common bacterial STIs.
HIV (AIDS)
HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is the virus that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
