Babies show many signs that they are hungry. If you catch these early hunger cues, feeding will be more
successful and satisfying for both you and your baby. Crying is a late hunger cue. Early hunger cues are as
follows:
- Awakening.
- Soft sounds.
- Mouthing (licking lips or sticking tongue out).
- Rooting (turning the head and opening the mouth).
- Hand to mouth movements.
Try to catch your baby’s feeding cues early
in the cycle...
avoid crying...
and begin breastfeeding.
