The purpose of this guide is to provide directions on the steps to be taken following an exposure to blood or bodily fluids. This guide is based on evidence-based practice recommendations and resources to provide guidance for the workers on required laboratory testing, guidelines for treatment and requirements for ongoing monitoring to be completed with their health care provider.

Background

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) is a publicly funded organization; as such the WECHU has a responsibility to spend funds prudently with the objective of providing public health programs and services as required by the Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA) and the Ontario Public Health Standards: Requirements for Programs, Services, and Accountability (OPHS).

The WECHU receives funding in the following manner:

BACKGROUND

The WECHU entered into a one-year Parking Lease Agreement with Havs Real Estate Development GP Inc. (HAVS) on January 1,2025 for 36 parking spaces located at Dufferin and Erie Street. The Lease is automatically extended, unless terminated by the WECHU, for successive one-month periods from January 1,2026 to December 31,2026.  The monthly lease amount is $3,297 or $39,564 per annum.
