Here is a list of potential measles exposure locations in Windsor and Essex county. View our Measles page for more information about risk, symptoms, and more.
Those who may have been exposed to measles, particularly those who are unvaccinated, should monitor for symptoms for 7 to 21 days after exposure. Symptoms can include a fever, runny nose, cough, drowsiness, irritability, and red eyes. A red rash appears on the face 3 to 7 days after the start of the above symptoms. If you develop these symptoms, call a healthcare provider or walk-in clinic BEFORE visiting to give the office time to prepare for your arrival, so the infection isn’t passed on to others.
If you are immunocompromised, have a child (children) 12 months of age or younger, or are pregnant, please contact the WECHU as soon as possible to confirm whether there are additional treatments that may be available to you. If this applies to you, please call 519-258-2146 ext. 1420. For after hours, weekends, and holidays, please call 519-973-4510.
